The Fringe is the progressive, super-light, minimalist wave sail featuring soft feather light handling, unlimited manoeuvrability, great low-end power and easy high wind control.
Fringe is the ultimate super lightweight surf sail for easy handling through radical manoeuvres. Excellent low end power and flexible ‘up’ lift gets you moving, keeps you loose and incredibly reactive on the water. Large bi-ply or spectra yarn film window provides easy visibility through the sail for choosing your line through the water. Precise carbon stretch control provides excellent stability throughout a very large wind range. Fringe is well suited to modern, higher volume, multi-fin boards. Using a higher volume board helps take advantage of the excellent low-end power of the Fringe, and also allows you to use a smaller sail size overall to maximise control and manoeuvrability. Fringe is also an excellent choice for lighter weight riders who reply on finesse over strength when sailing because of it’s incredibility light-handling weight,

A year of development has made a big difference in the overall handling characteristic of Fringe. A primary design objective with Fringe was to improve the handling of the sail in stronger wind. Goya have achieved that goal with outline refinements, particularly making the sail just a little bit shorter, then adding a bit more head outline, higher up on the sail. This, alongside the necessary shape and luff curve adjustments needed to match the new outline, and they ended up, unexpectantly with a sail that has big improvements in basic manoeuvrability as well. The new Fringe turns so much more tightly now if you need it to. Also a few details improvements, including new window shapes increase the viewing area through the sail and make it easier to pick your lines across the water. Goya have updated the material to tack and foot of the sail – the area that sees the most impacts, damage etc with stronger film, stronger yarn configurations in the laminate, and also they’ve made this material in the body colour of the sail for more visual impact on the water, more style and safety. New combination nylon / composite leech mini battens stabilise the leech.
