This is a complete beginner’s introduction to kitesurfing and is the ideal way to get into the sport. The course will give you all the instruction and help you need to safely learn under expert supervision. The course runs for 5 hours with a lunch break and takes you through:
Introduction to kiteflying:
You start the day on land kiteflying (using powerkites with bars) and then move onto:
- introduction to LEI kites
- understanding and set up of kites
- site assessment and safety features
- understanding how to launch and land kites in water
- control of kites in water
- start of body dragging
The learning with 2XS is very hands on and involves plenty of time flying the kites and on the water. There is a small amount of theory-based tuition which takes place in the West Wittering Windsurf Club clubhouse.
All of the teaching takes place on the latest kites and kiteboards from RRD. 2XS have kites from 3m to 12m. Most of the learning takes place on 5m and 7m kites with large beginner boards.
The teaching takes place at low tide, in West Wittering’s shallow, flat water lagoons. The flat water makes the initial stages of learning a lot easier.
The instructors at 2XS make sure that you have as much fun as possible whilst getting to grips with the basics of kitesurfing.
We provide you with everything you need to participate, including a high-quality, single lined glued and blind-stitched wetsuit, harness and helmet. We also have a warm, dry club house with hot showers, changing rooms and as much tea and coffee as you want so you can eat your lunch in comfort. In fact, the only thing you need to bring is your towel.
All of our instructors are fully BKSA-qualified and are hand-picked to ensure you have the best learning experience.
All instructors carry UHF radios, we have jet-ski rescue and there are life-guards on West Wittering beach in the summer months.
