Description
Get into the new sport of Wingfoiling. This 2-hour Taster session, that will provide you with the basics of learning to use the Wing on abeginners windsurf board in non planing conditions.
The course covers self rescue, inflating and setting up the Wing, land safety, statically manoeuvring the Wing on land and understanding how the Wing works from neutral to the wing sailing position.
On the water we cover going upwind, tacking and gybing and recovering the Wing in different positions on the water. This is all helping you to prepare to use the Wing on the foil.
The WingTRO is stage one of a BKSA Wing Foiling module.
We think you will love it and come back for more.
All instructors carry UHF radios, we have jet-ski rescue and there are lifeguards on West Wittering beach in the summer months, so safety of all tuition is at the forefront to ensure you will have a great session whilst remaining safe.

Great for seeing what starting learning to wingfoil is about. Did this introduction recently and although I wanted much more time on the water continuing to practice I really saw the potential by being there and learning to stand up with the wing, move along the water, and attempting to tack, whilst often crashing and doing the a lot of the wrong beginner-style moves. Conditions had pretty much enough wind, could’ve done with a few extra knots, small gusts were very exciting since I really saw the wing speed me up. Felt I learned to ride in a straight line faster than expected, tacking was more difficult than expected, but I can really see a fast progression with practice, I was just soaking it up. Everyone was friendly, approachable and knowledgeable, it was nice to learn about what size setup would be useful, and how to progress with training and purchasing equipment. Highly recommend this introduction course if you’ve never done any wingfoiling before and want to see what it feels like. I think an addiction is looming 😛

Booked my son (14) on to the Rippers 1 day course, as we had seen a class a few weeks before and it looked really good fun. All the kit was provided and I was sent all the instructions/advice for the course, the staff were all very helpful and friendly. My son also has autism and the instructors (Dec and Ali) were really approachable, calm and gave clear instructions. He absolutely loved it! He wants to come and do another course ASAP!

The course was easy to book online and well organised – our group of 5 newbies with mixed bag of prior experience (kiting or windsurf years before, sailing ) were all handling the wing and standing up on the training board (a windsurf board) and ‘tacking’ within two hours. The setting is as good as it gets with large Ww sandy beach at low water which was perfect – the boards were transported to water edge for us. There are changing rooms showers and fresh water to rinse off wetsuit. Most of all being ‘shown the ropes’ by a great inspirational coach (Thankyou Simon) who is so enthusiastic about this new sport and an experienced coach, so made everyone happy and with 100% up and riding a credit to him too! I shall definitely be returning and moving up the ranks to achieve full flight on this amazing new sport using their facilities and look forward to some more coaching in between hours of practicing. I think the wingtro experience will be popular this summer as it’s a great way of sampling the sport for people of all ages and prior experience.
If you do book a course and you are like me and skim the joining instructions just before setting off .. don’t miss the last sentence (get there 30 min before your course time to get changed)!!
