We had a small,  cold wave at West Wittering recently – the surf to date has been pretty poor this January, so we immediately took to the water!  Holly, myself and David had the beach to ourselves.  The sandbars are kicking up small surf, at the hint of any swell, so you have to keep checking the forecast and watch the Atlantic depressions to see what they produce .

The air and sea temp were pretty cold – air temp around 6 and sea at 4 degrees – I was using my 6/4 Ion select but actually felt too hot –a 5/4 would of been a better option and didn’t need a hood
