December is proving a good time for wind and surf and there is more heading our way over the weekend –had an epic windsurf with Jake, Alex Morey who was kiting this week – we had the waves to ourselves; to the left of the Club about 400 meters out perfect side shore and some decent chunks to ride – I was using my Ezzy Taka 5 4.5m, Jake was on a 4.7 Goya and Alex 7m Ozone Rio. Also last weekend, the 1 and 2 December was also busy on the beach with lots of kiting and windsurfing but the wind was gusty and wet, it was great to see so many people out on the water and Mike Black, Barry and Jonny Foley first out in the gloom of Saturday morning.
The following day, Tuesday, we scored an epic Sup Surf Session at West Wittering – Jamie Barrett, Alexis Holmbrecher, John Ash, Stu Mahoney, Sandy Clunas, Jake Sparks, Adrian Jenkins, Ned Branson and Ricky Knight were all out on the water – didn’t spend much time time taking photos it was too good to miss ….
Lots of riders get put off in winter because of the cold but Sandy was using his new 4/3 Ion which was perfect – I was too hot in my 5/4 Ion Onyx on my SUP I reckon the grey colour of the seas and sky is more off putting than the temperature! Now the southwesterly’s have returned it ‘s definately not worth missing – the current sea temp is 10 degrees C – you can keep a eye on the temp and weather on the 2XS live webcam is http://2xs.co.uk/weather/.
