Kite & Windsurf Pics – 26 October 2013 – West Wittering

This was a good low tide session as there hadn’t been any decent wind for a while.

We had our Rippers Camp on with Sam Ross and James Randall and here is the low tide kite action.
I watched Levon Lister charging some of his first runs were of the 35 to 36 knots mark.

Levon did a run the following Monday of 38 knots and it looked uber fast. John Hamer had a decent high tide session – Mike McChesney was ripping on his Cult Quad, Patrick was out, Stacey was getting some decent jumps and Simon Russell was getting some big air!

Justin came out later and busted out some nice pushies. Frank Mrkirgan and Westy were out in the trench giving it some 90s action.

We always add the pics the same day on Facebook page please sign in to into it to get early picture updates.

The Big Storm – 28 October 2013

THE BIG STORM – MONDAY 28 OCTOBER 2013

At first light Rossco, James and Ollie from West Wittering Windsurf Club were up trying to get to the beach.
Storm force winds overnight had downed trees and made it hard to get to the beach.

At just after 8am the beach opened as the Storm passed through gusts of wind were still in the 45 knot range this morning – gusts had been over 70 mph at 5 am according to local weather data, Chimet. …

June Session @ West Wittering

Last Saturday, the 15th June, we had a classic weekend down here at West Wittering.

30 knots in the morning, good for the trench, flat water and kiting and a very decent session at high tide when the waves came up in the afternoon.

Good to see so many people out on the water, unfortunately we didnt get any pics in the morning at low tide but Dave Gammon took these great photos of Emile, Neal, Timo and others later in the day at high tide…

Lewis Crathern goes large at West Wittering

Lewis Crathern Kitesurf legend, Dan Charlish from Snow Camp and event organiser, Chris Bull from CBK, Rich Gowers the boss at BKSA now British Kitesports, Simon Bassett and Julia from Snowcamp were have a meeting at West Wittering Windsurf Club about The Big Charity Downwinder kitesurf event in September.

It happened to coincide with some wind check out the shots of Lewis he must have been at lest 60 feet above the water –it was hard to keep the guy in the frame he just shot upwards –amazing…

Here are details about the event

Frosty SUP Session – 24 February 2013

We’ve had a couple of very decent SUP session at West Wittering over the weekend – small swell, 10 secs, off shore winds and a half meter swell.

The sand banks at West Wittering beach are throwing up some great surf, loads of peaks mainly lefts but plenty of rights. The sand bars were reeling just before and after high tide – Berties Reef was ripping outer banks were starting to work as well as the Hayling Bar.

This makes the multi million pound Boscome reef look like a farce ours is all natural and cost nothing! Holly, Matt ,Adrian West, James myself and Tez all made the most of a very cold session -sea temp was hovering 4 degrees c and air temp 1 with a nasty wind chill.Have to say we all managed a couple of hours in the water –took a while for the feet to thaw out. Luckily hots showers at West Wittering Windsurf club and few cups of tea made the morning feel perfect. Pics of Matt ,Holly, Tez taken by Simon Bassett –who stood in freezing offshore wind on the beach …

West Wittering Action shots – December 2012

Wow what a December -West Wittering has been kicking off for nearly 10 days in row – Santa definatly delivered this year!!

If you had a chance to get out its been warm, wet and windy – plenty of decent sessions some great wave riding and jumping – some heavy southerly sessions -and supercharged sessions on flat water. Watched a few people taking some proper beatings out the back even had a few myself –great to be out on the water.

Good to see the kite lords getting down early Ross, Ross’ dad, Chris, Adam, Larry, Chris, Paul Rothwell Innes, Barry, Kev, Rich and Tony Philips. Also Mike Black, Mike Stewart, Rick Giddings, Jamie Hawkins, Will Mackie and Stu Holland.

On the windsurfing front – there has been some decent wave riding to be had -Justin, Grahame and Phil seemed to be there every day, the odd showing from Lord Lucan even saw Jonny Wilson out of retirement. I watched James Randall ripping into the lip with some heavy top turns – Paul Simmons has been out all the decent days, good also to catch up with Paul Hatton who escaped the relatives on a decent heavy duty West Wittering day. Tim and Mark Perry have been out a lot Timbo has been tearing a few sails in the process as did Toby on the way out in a big southerly. James Mellor, Martin Edmead, Patrick and Tim Guilland and Mark Twist all have been out there enjoying the festive gales.

If you have any pics then please send them to me and I will add them to the site simon@2xs.co.uk Sorry only took a few its too good out there to stand around taking pics… Lets hope 2013 is windy not so wet season –Happy New year to every one, we hope to see you all on the beach……

Action Photos from 15th June

Big thanks to Stuart Holland for sending in his GoPro footage from the 15th June.

If you have any photos from last weekend (30/1st July) then please drop an email as we would to showcase your footage and action photography.

Have a look at the action shots. The GoPro Camera takes watersports photography to a new level with amazing high definition – just look at the detail in the water droplets in some of the photos for a brief insight into the camera’s capabilities. And in the 2nd photo, who is the windsurfer in the background!?

If you want to create photos like this, then have a browse through our GoPro Products. Stuart mainly 3 mounts: the helmet mount, the line mount, and the surf board mount. They all create different angles of view – question is – which one would you buy?
